Change to show notes.

Welcome back to running from diabetes. It's been a while since I've posted to this blog, I've been at school full-time and working full time and it's just taking everything I had out of me. So I'm going to use this blog in part the way I have for just thoughts but less frequent. More as show notes for my podcast RunningFromDiabetes which if you haven't noticed by now it's a audio blog of my dealing with diabetes as I train for endurance sports.

So if you have a questions or concerns please feel free to drop me a message.

Surfs Up

WAVES WERE 3-4 FT AND GLASSEY CONDITIONS. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO SPEND THE MORNING. MY FRIEND BRIAN SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE AT 6:30 AM WITH HIS BOARD A WETSUIT. DARN, THIS WAS TO EARLY FOR A SUNDAY, BUT WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO SEND HIM HOME. SO IN HE CAME AND ON GOES THE ESPRESSO MACHINE, WE'RE SURFERS (A LEAST TODAY) NOT ANIMALS.

THE TRUTH BE TOLD I HAVEN'T BEEN ON A BOARD, SHORT OR LONG, IN OVER A YEAR, OR IN MY WETSUIT. THAT WAS THE FIRST TEST. GETTING INTO A TIGHT DRY SUIT WAS TOUGH, WETSUITS SHOULD BE DRY BUT SUPPLE FROM BEING WET AND DRIED OVER NIGHT. THEN CAME THE PADDLE OUT, TALK ABOUT LIMP NOODLE ARMS. SURPRISE, SURPRISE I GOT OUT, IN THE OLD DAYS I WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT PADDLEING INTO OVERHEAD SURF. ONCE OUT I DIDN'T HAVE MUCH LEFT, BUT WAS ABLE TO PLAY FOR ABOUT 40 MCN.

THE END RESULT... PICTURE PERFECT DAY WITH GREAT WAVES, ANY SURFER WOULD SALIVATE. MY BODY NEEDS TO BUILD UP TO A FULL SURF SESSION BEFORE I HEAD OUT INTO OVERHEAD SIZE WAVES. AND MY BEST FRIEND TO SHARE IT ALL WITH... PRICELESS!!!

The Blood Sugar Demon

So we're trying a new voice recognition system. Trying to see if I have to type on my blog I or can just talk at it. This voice recognition system seems to be working pretty well., Nice to relax the back of my hands over my head: talking.

The last two weeks have been terrible. With work and school all of my available hours are completely used up and I just come home exhausted. I've done no running the last two or three weeks. My blood sugars have been skyrocket high. Sometimes so high I couldn't run even if I wanted too.

On the other hand, my school work has been going very well. I'm getting excellent grades in all my classes and understand them extremely well. That has to count for something.

Everybody's taken up an active project in this house. Jessica started walking at lunch, Virginia has joined the swim team, Alexis has joined softball team, Toni has gone out for track, and Chad is taken up exercising the dog as well as PE and lunchtime activities. Not a bad example of an active family.
