My Review

Highly Recommend

By Killrgrams from Orange County, CA on 11/19/2010

4out of 5

Pros: Well built, Nice features, Strong nail driver, Feels balanced

Cons: Doesn't have a rafterhook, Standard hooks don't fit, Still a little heavy

I'm a professional carpenter and contractor. In the few weeks that I've owned this gun have framed 1 home and done start board, facia, & siding on another with it. The gun held up to my Hitachi (the benchmark) in every way. It feels much better, balanced and seems easier to toe nail then the others I've used. No long term reliability data yet but expect it to last like a professional tool should.

Change to show notes.

Welcome back to running from diabetes. It's been a while since I've posted to this blog, I've been at school full-time and working full time and it's just taking everything I had out of me. So I'm going to use this blog in part the way I have for just thoughts but less frequent. More as show notes for my podcast RunningFromDiabetes which if you haven't noticed by now it's a audio blog of my dealing with diabetes as I train for endurance sports.

So if you have a questions or concerns please feel free to drop me a message.

Surfs Up

WAVES WERE 3-4 FT AND GLASSEY CONDITIONS. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO SPEND THE MORNING. MY FRIEND BRIAN SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE AT 6:30 AM WITH HIS BOARD A WETSUIT. DARN, THIS WAS TO EARLY FOR A SUNDAY, BUT WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO SEND HIM HOME. SO IN HE CAME AND ON GOES THE ESPRESSO MACHINE, WE'RE SURFERS (A LEAST TODAY) NOT ANIMALS.

THE TRUTH BE TOLD I HAVEN'T BEEN ON A BOARD, SHORT OR LONG, IN OVER A YEAR, OR IN MY WETSUIT. THAT WAS THE FIRST TEST. GETTING INTO A TIGHT DRY SUIT WAS TOUGH, WETSUITS SHOULD BE DRY BUT SUPPLE FROM BEING WET AND DRIED OVER NIGHT. THEN CAME THE PADDLE OUT, TALK ABOUT LIMP NOODLE ARMS. SURPRISE, SURPRISE I GOT OUT, IN THE OLD DAYS I WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT PADDLEING INTO OVERHEAD SURF. ONCE OUT I DIDN'T HAVE MUCH LEFT, BUT WAS ABLE TO PLAY FOR ABOUT 40 MCN.

THE END RESULT... PICTURE PERFECT DAY WITH GREAT WAVES, ANY SURFER WOULD SALIVATE. MY BODY NEEDS TO BUILD UP TO A FULL SURF SESSION BEFORE I HEAD OUT INTO OVERHEAD SIZE WAVES. AND MY BEST FRIEND TO SHARE IT ALL WITH... PRICELESS!!!

The Blood Sugar Demon

So we're trying a new voice recognition system. Trying to see if I have to type on my blog I or can just talk at it. This voice recognition system seems to be working pretty well., Nice to relax the back of my hands over my head: talking.

The last two weeks have been terrible. With work and school all of my available hours are completely used up and I just come home exhausted. I've done no running the last two or three weeks. My blood sugars have been skyrocket high. Sometimes so high I couldn't run even if I wanted too.

On the other hand, my school work has been going very well. I'm getting excellent grades in all my classes and understand them extremely well. That has to count for something.

Everybody's taken up an active project in this house. Jessica started walking at lunch, Virginia has joined the swim team, Alexis has joined softball team, Toni has gone out for track, and Chad is taken up exercising the dog as well as PE and lunchtime activities. Not a bad example of an active family.

Things are going ok but not great

You have to hate it when all you're making is the minimum goal, but
atleast I'm making a minimum goal. This week was no gold-medal. I did
get my runs in and my resistance training in. I did get my minimum
blood sugar checks mostly somedays better than others.

I guess that's just how resolutions and new years goals go. I just
have to do better next week. There is one benefit to diabetes. You
have to keep trying because there is no such thing as giving up.

I did spend some time thinking about running goals. I've been trying
to determine if I can train to run 100 miles in September, and train
and run the OC marathon in May. I'll have the least amount if free
time this year then many years past. Being a fulltime night school
student on top of working and training will be a big stretch. I'm
going to work out a training plan and give it a try.

A New Year. A non-resolution resolution.

It's time again for the New Year's resolution. The resolutions we all seem to make and never seem to hold. Well I haven't made any this year but I thought about what I'd like to achieve, and I think that's where I'll go. As opposed to resolution that can be broken. I'm going to set three goals. A high goal, a medium goal, and a low goal. The liw goal: completely achievable create some success. The medium goal some stretch if not achieved still the low goal achieved, and a high one. The ultimate of what I like to do in a single year.

My low goal for this year physically; is to do a minimum of two days of running 3 miles or more and a minimum of two days of resistance 30 minutes or more. Diabetes; is to test my blood sugar a minimum of four times a day five days a week and take my medication daily.

My medium goal is to achieve the low goal plus train and run one marathon and one half marathon. Test my blood sugars six times a day six days a week.

The high goal is to run my hundred mile run in August and a test my blood sugar a minimum of 6 to 8 times daily seven days a week for the entire year to work on a A1C of 6.8
